A Celebration of Nature in the Dales - Maxine Ahmed

An exhibition of watercolour paintings celebrating the dramatically beautiful Yorkshire Dales

The medium Max works in primarily is watercolour because of the purity, luminosity and clarity of the colours. This medium is magic! The process is full of happy (very often disastrous) accidents. Each painting therefore full of unique characteristics difficult to recreate. Each painting is an individual celebration of a mood, a fleeting moment in time, a ‘thank you’ to the magnificence of this beautiful world.

The outcome often a state of chaos! Much like nature herself really. Eg, the sky is ever shifting, the landscape in a constant state of flux, the same scene entirely different depending on the season, weather, time of day. Added to that the mood she feels whilst painting it. Who knows what will result! This is the excitement and the compulsion to paint!

Meet the Artist

Maxine will be painting here at The Station on the following dates during her exhibition – 16^th, 18^th, 23^rd, 25^th, 30^th April and 2^nd, 7^th May. Come along and see her at work and say hello!
