Getting to The Station


Richmond is just 4 miles from the A1/A66 junction at Scotch Corner. The nearest train station is Darlington - 12 miles away - and from here there are frequent bus services to Richmond, many of which stop at The Station. There is an Arriva bus service from the Market Place, which runs approximately every 20 minutes.

The Station is just a few minutes' walk from Richmond Market Place on the A6136 towards Catterick Garrison. You can park in the town centre (free disk parking in and around the market place as well as pay and display car parks) and walk down the hill to the river. The Station is just over the bridge and is well signposted. Buses from the Market Place stop at The Station approximately every 20 minutes.

Parking

There is pay and display car parking at The Station between 8am and 4pm, with a maximum 4 hour stay. Parking charges are:

Up to 2 hours: £2.00

Up to 4 hours: £3.00

Parking is free after 4pm every day.

Annual parking passes are available from the Richmond Swimming Pool Reception or Liberty Health Club.

There are several disabled parking spaces in the car park and parking is free for blue badge holders in these and all other parking bays. 

If you are visiting The Station as part of a coach or group visit, please contact us in advance.

Dogs

Dogs

We love dogs here at The Station and your four-legged friends are welcome inside the building along the platform area. If you are coming to The Station Café | Bar dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when visiting The Station. Well behaved dogs are welcome in The Station Shop, where we also have a jar of treats for dogs.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • The Station is set across 3 levels; the Platform, Café and Mezzanine. All three areas have lift access suitable for all wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
  • Along with general toilet facilities and baby changing, there are 3 accessible toilets; one on each level of the building. Please note a RADAR key may be required for some facilities.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the building. If your dog is not an assistance dog, it is welcome on all levels excluding the Café level.
  • There are 5 disabled parking bays, immediately outside of The Station's main entrance. Blue badge holders park free in these and any other bays in our car park.
  • Regrettably, we do not offer on-site information in larger text/braille, but have staff on-site who can assist you if required.
