Holly is self-taught print-maker. She creates intricate, sensitive lino cuts inspired by the natural world. Her process is long and complex, and is very much shaped by her daily life and inner world.
Holly likes to be fully immersed in the dramatic rural landscapes of Teesdale, and often feels inspired at dusk - a time which she has always associated with tranquility and healing. In the ‘gloaming’, all creatures seem to reveal themselves in their environment.
Borne from a strong connection to the land, and inspired by memories and chance encounters with wildlife, Holly's hand-coloured prints seek to evoke the folkloric timelessness of animals' lives, which often run unseen alongside our own human existence.
