This month we have two very exciting events happening to mark our tenth birthday! The first is our Kite Festival, being held at Richmondshire Rugby Club's Ground on Theakston Lane (DL10 4LL) on 29th and 30th July. This is going to be a super family fun weekend where there will be a variety of kite displays, traders and workshops - so you can learn to fly your own!
There will also be refreshments for sale so you can relax and enjoy your day! The event will run from 10am - 4pm each day and entry is free, however we would love for you to put a donation in one of the buckets towards our heritage projects here at The Station. We have lots of exciting things planned and your donations are very much needed and appreciated.
As well as the BIG event, we will have a range of Japanese Edo style kites on display right here at The Station. These kites are beautifully designed and painted by a variety of artists. Each one is completely unique and we are so fortunate to have them here with us, with kind permission of North East Kite Fliers.
They will be proudly displayed on the platform from 21st July - 3rd August and are guaranteed to be a spectacular sight! So make sure you bring the whole family and also spend some time taking in all the amazing art, food and shopping our building has to offer.
