Richmond's much-loved community venue is inviting people to join its team as it develops new training and delivery programmes
The Station in Richmond, proudly owned and operated by Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust (RBPT), is launching a major drive to recruit new volunteers, with a wide variety of opportunities on offer for people of all interests, skills and backgrounds. Whether you have a few hours to spare or a particular passion to share, there's a role to suit you, and full training is provided.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything The Station does, and the venue is looking for enthusiastic people to get involved across the site, including:
- Front of house - welcoming visitors and helping them make the most of their day
- The cinema - supporting screenings and giving audiences a warm welcome
- Platform piano - playing the platform piano and filling the space with live music
- Heritage projects - helping to celebrate and share the story of their historic building
- Fundraising - supporting the vital income that keeps RBPT thriving
- Events - helping to bring their busy programme to life
- Marketing - helping tell their story and reach new audiences
The recruitment drive comes at an exciting time for the charity, which is developing new training and delivery programmes for its volunteers. Anyone who joins will become part of a dynamic, friendly team and gain new skills, experience and connections along the way.
The Station is also keen to hear from people with ideas of their own. If you have a skill, talent or project you would like to share and volunteer your time towards, the team would love to hear from you.
Anna Tunstall, Operations Manager, who is leading the scheme, said: “This is a wonderful time to get involved with RBPT and The Station. We have such a huge range of opportunities, from welcoming visitors front of house and helping in the cinema, to playing our platform piano, supporting heritage projects, fundraising, events and marketing. No experience is needed; full training is provided, and you'll be joining a dynamic and friendly team.
