An exhibition of original paintings and prints, inspired by travel, and happy memories
Emma is a North East Artist, from County Durham. However, she has always had a free spirit character, enjoying travelling almost as much as painting. It is the travelling that she has done, that has influenced her art the most.
The concept for her popular ‘Voodoo Couple’ collection was drawn from memories of two of the most fascinating places she visited – New Orleans and Haiti. You will also notice a few other quirky characters appearing in Emma’s work, inspired by her adventures a little closer to home in the UK.
There is a prominent ‘love’ theme running through many of her paintings, and a touch of humour thrown in too. This derives from the relationship she shares with her husband Duane, and the happy memories they have created over their 21 years together.
Emma looks for the colour and vibrancy in life, even in the face of adversity, and it is most definitely evident in this collection of work.
