Darlington Society of Arts exhibition in 2023 will share a selection of their current members work showing the Society’s a hundred years old and going on strong!
The Society was founded in 1922 with the prime object of stimulating interest in and appreciation of art in Darlington and the surrounding area. Recent exhibitions by Darlington Society of Arts have drawn comment including "wide variety of work all carried out with great skill", and the centenary exhibition is expected to showcase selected paintings, drawings, prints, digital and textile pieces alongside work in a variety of crafts. We will also have a display of pictures of ‘old Darlington’ as part of our centenary exhibition.
Darlington Society of Arts Club Nights take place on Thursday evenings, between 7 pm and 9 pm, on a fortnightly basis at Holy Trinity Youth & Community Centre in Darlington, with further information available at Darlington Society of Arts (darlingtonsoa.co.uk). Beginners and experienced artists are welcome to join and new members are welcome. Guest speakers and artists currently contribute to alternate Club Nights, offering attendees an opportunity to discover something new, but you’re also welcome to just come along and do your own creative thing. The Society Club Nights seek to inspire and give support to anyone who enjoys painting and crafting in a friendly setting, and we hope to see you there.
