Beginners Embroidery Workshop

An enlightening, creative day designed for those who would love to learn more about hand embroidery – even if you have never threaded a needle before. You’ll learn a range of stitches and how they can be altered, placed together and apart and worked using a variety of threads to create different effects. After an inspiring morning learning stitches, you’ll be guided to create your own personal piece of artwork to display your new found skills. As well as learning basic embroidery skills we’ll explore how to prepare your work for display and other uses and how to transfer designs for embroidery.

By the end of the day you will have learnt a wide range of hand embroidery stitches and know how to manipulate them to gain exciting effects, as well as created a sampler or embroidery of your choosing. You will know how to transfer designs to fabrics and moving forwards will know how to create more hand embroidered artwork and have the confidence to tackle more in depth projects.

£65 per person

All materials and a stitch guide booklet are included; please bring a basic sewing kit if you have one with needles, embroidery scissors and a pen or pencil. You may wish to bring a packed lunch, or refreshments can be purchased from our on site Cafe | Bar.
