An exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the First World War by two local artists, Caroline Shepherd and Jennifer Richardson.
Raising funds for The Poppy Appeal.
Originally from Weymouth in Dorset. Caroline has lived and worked in North Yorkshire, at the gateway to the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, for the last 18 years.
Caroline is a self -taught artist and her favourite medium is acrylic paint because it dries quickly and the colours are vibrant. She also likes using pastels and has been known to sketch and try new mediums.
Caroline enjoys painting landscapes but also likes painting seascapes, mermaids and poppies. She has been strongly influenced by her military career and is proud to have served with some truly amazing and incredibly brave people. She has also been influenced by life experience, growing up on the Jurassic coast and living by the sea
Jennifer Richardson is an artist and produces work under the name of Miss Jennys Custom Art.
She resides on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales where she has settled, after being born within a Military family in Germany as her father served in the British Army.
Jennifer has a BA(hons) in Design crafts for the entertainment industry as well as a PGCE, and custom paints art works on to racing helmets. Having had her photography work published in magazines, she also undertakes a teaching role; introducing people to the artistry of air brushing.
Jennifer’s exquisite art works come in all forms, exploring with watercolour, oils paints and of course the airbrush, giving a unique expressive contemporary edge to portraits, animals and wildlife.
