Re-opening FAQs - All you need to know before you visit

All you need to know before you visit

Which parts of the building are open?

All areas of The Station are now open: The Station Café | Bar, The Station Gallery, The Station Cinema, The Shop, Angel’s Share Bakery, Kacao Chocolaterie, Richmond Brewing Company, Archer’s Ice Cream and Charlotte Jacqueline School of Dance.

Can I just walk in?

Yes. You may wander freely around the building but we do ask that you adhere to social distancing guidelines.

When are you open?

The Station building itself is currently open seven days a week - from 10am Monday to Friday and from 9am at weekends. Our independent businesses' opening hours may vary. Please see their individual websites for information.

How are you keeping us safe?

We have implemented a range of measures to ensure we have the highest standards of hygiene, including regular cleaning and installing hand sanitizer units throughout the building.

Do I need a wear a mask?

Yes. We ask that all visitors, except those who are exempt on medical grounds and children under 11, wear a face mask or face covering in accordance with government guidelines

Can I use the toilets?

Yes, of course. We are operating a one-in-one-out system so there may be a short wait. The toilets will be checked and cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day.

Can I bring my dog?

No, sorry. We are not allowing dogs in the building, except for guide dogs and therapy dogs. This is due to the limited space on the platform. This will be reviewed regularly and we will update you with any changes.

Are there tables on the platform?

No, sorry. Due to current social distancing measures, there are no tables or benches on the platform. One table can be reserved on the platform for powered wheelchair users, due to weight restrictions on the lift down to The Station Café | Bar on the lower level. Tables are available in The Station Café | Bar for customers ordering food and drinks, and outside in the garden area for picnics. The Station Café | Bar does not serve food and drink outside, but you may purchase takeaway food and drink from there or our independent businesses to enjoy at the outdoor tables.

You can book a table at The Station Café | Bar by calling 01748 825967 or emailing restaurant@thestation.co.uk

Is The Shop open?

Yes, The Shop is open selling exceptional design from a variety of artists. Current opening hours are 7 days a week 11am – 4pm.

Can I buy art?

Yes! We have fantastic exhibitions coming up over the next few months. Art sales are processed through The Shop. If you wish to purchase art outside of shop opening hours, please fill in a contact form on the volunteer’s desk and a member of staff will be in touch as soon as possible.

Is the book stall open?

Yes! For a small donation, you can pick up a great new read and rest in the knowledge that you have supported our beautiful building. Please note that we have plenty of stock so currently cannot accept any more books.

How else can I support the charity?

We are so grateful for your support during these difficult times. We can't wait to welcome you back. If this is not possible for you at the moment, but you would still like to support the charity, you can find out all the ways to do that here.
